Southwest Arkansas Progress
A ribbon cutting was held on April 30th to open the Eastern Loop around Texarkana from Hwy. 549 to US 71 North (future I-49). The Doddridge Connection (4.4 miles extending Hwy. 549 from Doddridge to the Louisiana border) is funded and under construction, to be completed late 2014. This will connect I-20 in Shreveport to I-30 in Texarkana. Hwy. 549 will then be renamed I-49!
