Arkansas House Passes Resolution Supporting Completion of I-49



On February 2, 2017, Arkansas State Representative John Maddox and other members of the house passed a resolution that will be carried to federal legislators and other government officials to demonstrate the support for completion of I-49 through western Arkansas.

 

I-49 International Coalition members deeply appreciate this effort and promise to use it to the full extent of our ability to create positive momentum for this project.

AR residents give input in Barling to ArDOT on I-49 project

Fort Smith, AR-area residents had the opportunity to learn more about a proposed I-49 project Thursday during an ArDOT public involvement meeting to discuss 13.7-mile project between AR Hwy. 22 in Sebastian County to the Interstates 40/49 interchange in Crawford County.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration have cooperated on an environmental re-evaluation and redefined conceptual alignment for a new section of Interstate 49 approximately 13.7 connecting Sebastian County and Crawford Counties at Interstate 40.
